Come up for election – Vote for Europe!
The Federal Republic of Germany and its Basic Constitutional Law are celebrating their 60th birthday this year. Within these years the German history goes along with the development of the European Union considering freedom and peace in the European countries.
After two world wars and several other topical conflicts worldwide, it is evident that a united Europe and an international understanding cannot be taken for granted. In order to guarantee the achievements of a united Europe we (the European residents) have to avow ourselves to the European Union by participating in the European elections on 7 June 2009.
Voting is also important for us as the European Parliament influences and forms the politics in our own country. For example, more than three quarters of the European decisions are realised in our countries. This, of course, does not mean that we are directed by the European Parliament. On the contrary: With our votes we are deciding politics for all of us and therefore we take part in a European decision-making.
Therefore: If you participate in the European elections, you will vote for a united Europe and influence the politics in Europe as well as in Germany.
Because of the importancy of the European elections we -Young Labour (Jusos) in Eschweiler- ask you to vote for a caring and fair Europe for everyone. So please vote for Martin Schulz and the European Parliamentary Labour Party (EPLP / SPE) on 7 June 2009.
